Video: 30 bloggers, 1 train. That’s #AmtrakLIVE.

Over the past year I’ve become something of a railroad fanboy. What started with a random trip from Denver to Los Angeles early last year has grown into something way larger and more meaningful than just “traveling”. Amtrak has been my preferred method of travel since I got off the California Zephyr back in March 2013 to the point where now I feel like more of a train advocate than rider.

#AmtrakLIVE and the Texas Eagle

Amtrak Texas Eagle

The Texas Eagle from Los Angeles to Austin, TX.

So, when I found out that Amtrak was taking a group of bloggers aboard the Texas Eagle from Los Angeles to Austin, TX for SXSW, I knew I had to be involved. For the 33+ hour trip, two cars were reserved for the #AmtrakLIVE crew: a car of sleepers for everyone and of course, an observation car. Part observatory, part social haven, the observatory car was where most of everyones time was spent. Networking, drinking, game playing, storytelling and sightseeing were all going down simultaneously on the top deck of the two-story observation car.

Here’s the video that came of everything…
