Glass Duffle State of Affairs, vol. 3: Fall ’14

Summer by its nature is a magical time. Hopefully for you and those close to you, the Summer of 2014 was no exception. For your three writers here at GD, this summer was as magical as it gets. We didn’t write as much as we would have liked to, but I think I speak for all of us when I say this summer was spent well. Zero regrets here!

Living life is far more important than recording it, smiles more meaningful than “likes” and hugs wayyyyyy better than “shares”, to be real.

But since our recording of experiences could hopefully help one of our readers extract everything from their own experiences in the future, we’re back in full effect.

And we’ve got a lot of what we think is knowledge in our hearts that we’re eager to share from our respective summers! Those lovely days.

While not at a music festival or traveling along the west coast, we were publishing more Spotify playlists for you to listen to, Amtrak videos to watch, road trips to dream about and one of our all-time favorite posts, a highly entertaining and inspiringly introspective self-roast of our own Wes Kasik by Wes Kasik. A roast which Nick and I will both publicly put ourselves through this fall.

What else can you expect from GD this fall? Well…

THIS FALL ON GD

Nick B GD Stickers

Nick Battaglia

I’m particularly excited for what Nick has coming this fall. Very soon, Nick will be releasing his definitive list of “life songs”. That is, an assembly of the tracks and musical styles that have influenced him from way-back-when until now. With our “#AudioBiographies” series we hope to share our own take on how the songs that we’ve jammed and danced to over the years have brought us to who we are now.

And you too!

We hope #AudioBiographies will open up an entirely new form of dialogue between us and our readers, one where you guys actually submit your own life playlists to be featured here on Glass Duffle! More on this in the coming weeks, after our resident musical genius has officially kicked things off.

Oh! And check out those stickers around NB’s neck! Glass Duffle merchandise giveaways will be taking place this fall, including said stickers, tanks and v-necks. (see bottom)

The homie Wes has been and will continue to contribute high-quality pieces to GD meant to inspire a deeper appreciation for the smaller details of our lives. As mentioned before, WK hit the mark with his self-roast and has inspired both Nick and myself to follow suit later this fall. In addition to those necessary life pauses, look for videos coming from Wes as part of a new Glass Duffle YouTube page that we’ve been plotting on this summer.

WK is catching his stride, ladies and gentlemen! Don’t be late to the show.

As for myself, #RoadTripMore Parts 4 through 7 will be coming this fall. Those posts will include plenty of wordy introspection on the conclusion of my solo road trip earlier this year and will be accompanied by a lengthy photoset and a GoPro road trip video, both of which are high on my list of things to do this fall. As I try to manage building a business in LA, creating for Glass Duffle and living it up socially, I’ve also a planned a few big things to look forward to this fall! First, a trip out of the states in October to Dubai and then the filming of a documentary for the Desert Hearts Festival in November. Plus my return to Pittsburgh in December for my mom’s graduation! I see you, Dr. White.

But as I’ve done since graduating college, life will be taken largely in stride this fall.

Glass Duffle Merch

Glass Duffle Shirts

Glass Duffle merch is very real and while we’ve given some of our swag out already, we’ve got more to go! Besides the tank and v-neck for ladies pictured above, we’ve also invested in a hefty roll of GD stickers.

If you’re interested in attaining some next level GD gear, follow us on something! We’re all over Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Google+, and this fall we plan on giving away as much GD gear as possible. (Don’t be afraid to ask us for stickers!!!) And of course, stay up-to-date with all GD happenings by signing up for the email list on the top right.

It’s going to be a wonderful fall for all of us, friends! Walk your path, enjoy the seasons and never feel alone. You’ve got three friends right here for ya at all times.
