Glass Duffle’s Top Tracks of 2016

Friends, it’s been awhile. And it’s been…quite a turbulent year, all things considered.

I wanted to share some genre-agnostic musical frissons that brought some equilibrium to my world and hopefully to yours after the last 12 months– my ‘unskippable’ releases in 2016. 101 of the Best. Weaving in no particular order between joy, catharsis, engrossment, serenity, the groove…maybe D) All of the above. The feels…in short:

If you’ve been keeping up with me on the twitter, I’ve rather annoyingly been keeping tabs of a few of my favs this year in real time. Shouts to TV Girl, Junior Boys, The Avalanches, Frankie Cosmos, Star Slinger, The Range, Gold Panda, Yumi Zouma and Ricky Eat Acid for producing some of the most incredible albums from start to finish. I know I forgot some and it’ll irritate me quite a bit for my remaining years. Also– a special nod to Anderson .Paak & NxWorries for consuming me throughout the majority of the year. “Suede” was my number 1 played track this year according to this really great Spotify algorithm turned playlist; although technically released in 2015, “Suede” gets a preferential nestle in at the 102 spot. Here’s to entering 2017 with more breathtaking music and its unrelenting moving power.
