SituPlaylist: Summer 2015

I realized–or reaffirmed, rather– many things this past weekend at the charming and perfectly intimate Nelsonville Music Festival 2015. Summer is undoubtedly here– the weather, the music, the energy– it’s been all brewing for quite some time. And never matter what you say, Tosh, the nectar is unequivocally sweeter after another brutal winter. It’s also been confirmed my friends (forms) are simply the best, and we welcome everyone to hang out sometime, preferably in a grassy field, under a rotating ball of fire, with a melody sewn between your temple, connecting your right and left eardrums…

As is the traditional flavor, I try to put on the summer selections, no genre is shown preferential treatment; we’ll have an electic blend of: summer soaked synths (Goldroom, Bearson, Neon Indian) variations of house (HNNY, Cherokee, Justin Jay) giddy disco ish (Gigamesh, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Flight Facilities), doused hip-hop/bass beats (20syl, Mura Masa, Ambassadeurs) and habitual pop/rock steppers (Toro y Moi, Mac DeMarco, Future Islands). But what differs from last year’s summer 2014 playlist besides the tracks? I’m posting this one at summer’s commencement rather than its outro.

NMF2015 is in the rearview, but I”m looking forward to Bunbury this Friday with good company again. I’ll also be venturing to Bonnaroo, Mamby Beach (last day to get tickets at tier 1!!) and…? My contact info is here if you want to sync up– twitter is probably best. Alright, I’m wrapping this up because I can’t keep checking my phone. Enjoy!

Couple random tidbits from me, the editor:

*To the best of my knowledge, every track is released this calendar year of twenty fifteen

**I’ll be updating this continuously throughout the summer, so I apologize in advance for an inundation of emails and/or notifications. The folks at Spotify give insight on how to disable those here.
